sweet childhood

today I walked into my childhood days ... I walked in a vintage shop (probably the oldest in town) and suddenly the present and the outside vanished!
a grocery which remains pretty much as it always has been, even the scent of my primary schooldays is the same!
the owner, a 90+ year old, still goes about his business as he always did. only the packaging of products are like those you can find now in any other place. but not for these sweets! they are still sold by the weight like they were when I was a child and used to stop on the way back from school to buy a little bag of beijinhos (literally little kisses - the colored ones) and línguas de gato (cat's tongues - the plain ones) ... I left the shop carrying a little bag of just weighted sweetness ... sweet memories! :)
....................

at first I thought you had made them Paula. They look homemade. I can't remember what we call them, but they don't look as delicous as these ones.

thank you all! :)/ obrigada a todos! :)

Jill . that is very kind of you, thanks! they are actually made in small batch by a family run business, hence the look and taste of homemade ... like in the old days! :)
