BLACKBERRY JAM



made some blackberry jam . 2kg freshly picked wild blackberries washed and drained + juice of 1 lemon + half litre water .  simmer for 1 hour . strain through a fine sieve getting as much pulp and juice as possible . weight this and add half of the weight in preserving sugar . bring to the boil gently until it reaches setting point . place in clean warm jars (fill the jars with boiling water, leave for a couple of minutes, empty and thoroughly dry with a clean tea towel) . close jars immediately and label ... enjoy! :)


fiz doce de amoras . 2 kilos de amoras frescas lavadas e escorridas + sumo de 1 limão + meio litro de água . vai ao lume brando durante cerca de uma hora . passar por um passador fino tentando obter o máximo de polpa e sumo das amoras . pesar e adicionar metade do peso em açúcar (de preferência do especial para fazer compotas) . levar ao lume brando até atingir o ponto de estrada . colocar em frascos mornos préviamente escaldados e bem secos . fechar bem enquanto quente e etiquetar ... divirtam-se! :)

I love all your recipes and I don't seem to get the chance to try one! Sadly, the blackberry plant at my parents house is gone. It's one of my favourite fruit!

they grow near the little brook by my grandfather's village, but i'm afraid we might have missed them this year.
