These are the last of the herbarium stones limited edition collection . All the others are sold out . 3 seaweed stones + 1 jacaranda . It is the last chance to buy these pieces

Maybe I will make some different ones in the future . Will have to see!

IN THE GARDEN

It felt so peaceful the simple generous moments of the day . the warm weather . light cotton shirt . no need for extra layers.
.
The season for lunches in the garden is finally opened . the menu today consisted of courgette soup . bread and tomato gratin . and for dessert a couple of homemade butter cookies and the most tasty physalis I have ever had picked in that very moment.
.
Fruits . vegetables . and flowers all so alive in the garden . with so much beauty in them . the young apricot tree (planted just last year) is heavy with pretty fruits . the same goes for the physalis . the green beans are already tall . and the tomato plants too . spinach . rocket . lettuce . coriander . and all the others in the garden . . . all so rewarding!

All this enwrapped in the poweful scent of the jasmine (jasminum officinale)
.
And the turtles had a smashing time outside! :)

Foi tão reconfortante sentir os momentos simples do dia . o tempo quente . apenas uma camisa ligeira . sem necessidade de mais casacos.
.
A época para os almoços no jardim está finalmente aberta . no menu de hoje sopa de courgete . gratinado de pão e tomate . e para sobremesa umas bolachas de manteiga feitas em casa acompanhadas com as melhores physalis que já comi . colhidas na altura.
.
Frutas . vegetais . e flores tudo tão vivo e cheio de beleza no jardim . o jovem damasqueiro (plantado apenas o ano passado) está coberto de frutos bonitinhos . e o mesmo acontece com a physalis . o feijão verde já vai alto . e os tomateiros também . espinafres . rúcula . alface . coentros . e todos os outros no jardim . . . tudo tão gratificante!

Tudo isto envolto no perfume poderoso do jasmim (jasminum officinale)
.
E as tartarugas tiveram uma tarde fantástica! :)

TODAY

Woke up pretty early this morning
Before 8 I had baked a cake
This cake minus 100gr of sugar and used muscovado instead
So full of fruit I had some for breakfast with a cup of a hot cereal drink which tastes just like real coffee
The day started rather foggy and dull but before noon the sun was shining and it turned out to be the first proper gorgeous Spring day of the year . . . 22ºC all afternoon, it felt wonderful!
Went for a walk with the dog by the river and the water has retreated quite a bit
I loved listening to the pacifying sound of it running in a nearby little cascade behind the large blackberry bushes
Picked up some warm sun on the face in the late afternoon while in the park
Been rather quiet during the week . preparing some new work . should be ready in a few weeks

The day woke up rainy again . made some breakfast with a taste of Summer

pancakes (ground oats + plain flour + pinch salt + yogurt + soy milk + egg)

blackberries picked and frozen last Summer simmered with a tiny bit of water and a pinch of sugar

O dia começou com chuva novamente . fiz um pequeno almoço com sabor a Verão

THIS MORNING . PART II

Well not exactly today's morning (it would not have been possible to go to this place today as during the night it got flooded) but yesterday while visiting the river I observed . . .

a) there are already large poppies out there :)

b) some fruit trees have new fruits (figs) some are in bloom (quince) while others have fruit and are in bloom all at the same time (oranges . . .  I simply love the refreshing scent of orange blooms!) :)

c) the old derelict fishermen's houses have a vague look of relaxing Summer days

d) it was a fine bright morning . . . so clear after the rain *

Bem não exactamente durante a manhã de hoje (teria sido impossível passar por estas bandas pois durante a noite toda esta zona ficou vedada por causa da cheia) mas ontem quando visitei o rio vi que . . .

a) há papoilas enormes por ai :)

b) algumas árvores de fruto têm novos frutos (figos) algumas estão em flor (marmeleiro) e outras têm fruto e flor ao mesmo tempo (laranjeira . . .  adoro o perfume revigorante das flores de laranjeira) :)

c) as velhas casas abandonadas dos pescadores têm um ar vago de belos dias de Verão

d) estava uma manhã linda e brilhante . . . límpida depois da chuva *

THIS MORNING . PART I

This morning the river . burst . alive . the usual fields covered . roads blocked . and everything so clear under the bright blue sky . . . a little while ago  and today :)
